Chicago Cutlery was founded in 1930 to sharpen knives for butchers and meat packers in the Chicago area. After spending years learning how the industry used knives and witnessing the daily wear and tear on the knives Chicago Cutlery manufactured their own line of knives for butchers and meat packers. While they specialized in knives for the poultry industry, their reputation soon led them into other meat processing plants.
While they continue to make knives for poultry and meat processing they have also expanded their product line to include knives for home use.
Today, Chicago Cutlery is one of the market leaders in professional grade, forged cutlery intended for use by the home chef.
