Calphalon was founded in Perrysburg. Ohio in 1963 as Commercial Aluminum Cookware. Their original mission was to supply professional food service companies with quality cookware.
In 1968 Calphalon led the industry into the use of anodized aluminum cookware. The use of anodized aluminum created very durable cookware that was resistant to corrosion and warping. The company called this process Calphalon.
Professional chefs quickly embraced this cookware and it didn't take long until it became very popular with amateur home chefs as well.
In 1992 the company changed its name to Calphalon.
Calphalon now makes cutlery from many different materials.
Today, professional and amateur chefs count on the durable, quality products that Calphalon is known for.
